Bringing Cold As Silk to Life

One of my favourite parts of the writing process is creating Pinterest boards for the stories and characters.

When I started writing Cold As Silk, I collected images that helped me visualise the world. Some represented the characters, others captured the atmosphere, locations, and even the feeling I wanted certain scenes to evoke.

None of the images are intended to be exact representations of the characters. Instead, they act as creative touchstones, helping me stay connected to the people and places I'm writing about.

Looking at the board now, I can still see Eleanor, Nathan, Andrew, Molly, Monty and Thorley Manor exactly as I imagined them while writing.

The funny thing is that readers often picture characters differently, and that's one of the things I love most about books. Every reader creates their own version of the story in their mind.

These images show mine.
